This workshop will present a refresh of the Main Street Four-Point Approach®, the most successful downtown revitalization program in the country. The National Trust for Historic Preservation developed the Four-Point Approach® to revitalization over 35 years ago as a guide for communities to produce fundamental changes in the economic base, while preserving historic commercial buildings and unique heritage. The goal of the methodology is to create a sustainable organization that functions as the revitalization leader in the community. National Main Street has upgraded the approach to reflect current trends, reach a new generation, and implement a more focused plan.

Whether you have been in Main Street for years or are new to the program, this workshop is a must for everyone interested in saving their historic district and improving their community. Kathy La Plante, Senior Program Officer with the National Main Street Center, will guide this hands-on and interactive presentation. Learn about the power of the Main Street Four-Point Approach® from vision to implementation. Use this focused approach to transform you downtown and spur development and activity.
