The City of Sugar Creek will host the next West Gate Division meeting of the Missouri Municipal League on Thursday, January 23, 2020. The City will be celebrating their 100-year anniversary in 2020 and will share a display of the city's history as well as introduce you to some of the customs of their rich Slavic heritage. The meeting will be held at the Mike Onka Memorial Building, 11520 Putnam, Sugar Creek, MO 64054.
This event will provide an excellent opportunity for municipal officials to meet their neighboring officials, find common cause and share an excellent meal. The dinner menu will give guests an opportunity to try our traditional Slavic foods; Sarma (cabbage rolls), Kielbasa & kraut and Haluski (cabbage & noodles) as well as baked seasoned chicken breast, green beans, tossed salad, bread & butter and ethnic baked goods. It will be a buffet with costumed servers who can explain the food as you go through the line.
Our guest speakers will be Dr. Ed Kraemer, MD and MaryAnna Henggeler, MPH presenting Healthy Eating/Active Living: Building a Healthier Jackson County!
Registration and social hour with a cash bar will begin at 6 p.m. and the dinner will start at 7 p.m. The registration fee for the meeting (including dinner) will be $35 per person.
