Joplin City Council Honors Retiring City Clerk Hogelin

Retiring Joplin City Clerk Barbara Hogelin was honored by the City Council at Tuesday night’s (1/2) meeting. Hogelin received a resolution thanking her for her 24 years of service to the City. She tells News Talk KZRG the day was overwhelming…and one gift she received was extra special.

“The icing on the cake was probably the key to the city.  I never in my life would have dreamed I would have gotten the key to the city.  Absolutely beautiful.  It’s been an absolute blessing to work here at the City of Joplin with all these wonderful people.  I’d do it again in a heartbeat.”

Assistant City Clerk Barbara Gollhofer has been appointed to succeed Hogelin. There are pictures from Tuesday’s City Council meeting in the photo section at
